Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is facing a tough dilemma if he decides to run for president against his former ally, Donald Trump. On Monday, he made his position clear when he was asked about the possibility of Trump being indicted.

In response to pressure from Trump allies, DeSantis attacked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, calling him a "Soros DA" and accusing him of ignoring real issues around crime. He also made a reference to adult film star Stormy Daniels and said he would not be involved in any extradition of the former president.

While some Republicans have criticized Bragg, DeSantis' comments did not sit well with Trump and his supporters. Trump took to social media to criticize DeSantis, and his son Donald Trump Jr. called him "pure weakness." It seems that no matter what DeSantis says or does, he will face criticism from Trump and his supporters if he runs for president.

DeSantis has so far avoided direct confrontation with Trump, but it remains to be seen if he can continue to do so. He has positioned himself as someone who won't back down, but can he withstand the constant attacks from Trump? If he enters the race already heavily defined by Trump's attacks, is this the path to win the GOP nomination?

In any case, DeSantis has made it clear that he is focused on fighting Joe Biden instead of other Republicans. Whether this strategy will work remains to be seen, but it seems that DeSantis is in for a tough battle if he decides to run for president.
