The spiritual head of Tibet, the Dalai Lama, is under criticism after a video surfaced of him kissing a young Indian boy on the lips and telling him to "suck my tongue" at a Buddhist ceremony. The video was filmed while the Dalai Lama was attending the event. The video has provoked uproar in India as well as throughout the world, with many people wondering how a venerated religious person could behave in such a way.
In the footage, the Dalai Lama can be seen conversing with a group of individuals, including the little kid, while perched on an elevated platform. The young child is brought to the Dalai Lama in the video, and the spiritual leader gives him a kiss on the lips. The fact that he subsequently instructs the youngster to "suck my tongue" has caused others to be concerned about the manner in which they were interacting.
The Dalai Lama's defenders have asserted that the conversation was innocuous and that the Dalai Lama was only kidding about the youngster in question. Having one's sexuality used by an authoritative adult, on the other hand, is not a humorous thing, as victims of sexual abuse of children have pointed out.
Also, it has been called into question if there are any international leaders who are not involved in pedophilia as a direct result of the occurrence. The video has now gained international attention, which has resulted in considerable criticism and requests for the Dalai Lama to apologize for his actions.
In recognition of his non-violent efforts toward Tibet's emancipation, the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. He won this honor for his role as the spiritual leader of Tibet. At that time, he transitioned into a career as an environmental activist, and he now works with Klaus Schwab's World Economic Forum to advance the agenda about climate change.
In addition to this, he has made a number of public appearances alongside the teenage environmental campaigner Greta Thunberg, praising her as a modern-day prophet. In recent years, the Dalai Lama has been seen in public by a variety of notable figures, including Lady Gaga and Hillary Clinton. As a result of these appearances, he has become a well-liked figure in popular culture.
